Warckon gig

As said 2 weeks ago, I went shooting the Warckon gig in the youth house (I've also made their poster).
The club was packed and sweaty, but I managed to get near the stage, stuck at the left angle as you see.. didn't want to take the risk of my cam getting slammed, so I stayed put.
Didn't really feel like shooting but hey, you shouldn't waste any opportunity.

Assignment: Create a website in flex with some php included, also design a illustrator-poster for your project.

The website is gonna be a fresh out of the oven yuutency.be, php will cover the gallery.
In 3 weeks a local band is performing in the youth house, so I've asked them whether I could do the poster. It turned out to be more fun in Photoshop so I'll have to search another design for my Illustrator-job, doesn't mather I've had fun!

PS. I'll go shoot the bands as well (good lord, that sounds awful.)

I have always enjoyed drawing, old school paper-drawing that is.
Now we are in an unpleasant situation .. the professor photoshop-illustrator is unavailable for some time thus I'm taking this in my own hands. (Yes, my favorite class would be multimedia)

& Learning to draw gestures, portraits, .. will come in handy when designing a website.
I have a few ideas in my mind.


This was my first try. My goal is going from roughly sketched characters to paintings or vector-like characters.

Presenting the idea around his new book Drive. You will be surprised how the science of motivation works.

The main key is that rewards often don't work on 21st century jobs. Most cognitive problems aren't strictly defined to have a set of rules and a simple solution, they require thinking beyond functional focus as described in The Candle problem.
The reward narrows our focus and restricts possibilities, when we actually need an open sight to solve this problem. So awkwardly enough.. promising rewards to such problems harm to the productivity and creativity instead of gaining performance. We get poorer performance..

Bonuses will improve productivity, if the task involves mechanical skills only.

The most famous in this utopia is Google Inc. Google offers their employees 20 % of their time to work at anything they want. About half of Google's products (such as Gmail, Google News, ..) are born in this 20 % "spare" time.

I'm sure I'll be learning a lot through practicing while delivering interesting pictures.
Now was the time to try it out.

Coronairspasme (hart spasmen)

Coronairspasme
Ik heb al een paar jaar last van, zogenaamde coronairspasmen blijkt, dokter gaf er nooit een naam aan.

Prinzmetal-angina, ook variant-angina genoemd, is een vorm van angina pectoris die optreedt door een plotselinge, krampachtige samentrekking van de spierlaag in de kransslagaderwanden, een zogeheten coronair spasme. De pijn wordt veroorzaakt door een tekort aan bloed en zuurstof (ischemie) in het hart als gevolg van een aandoening van de kransslagaders.

Als door een dergelijke kramp de spier maar lang genoeg van bloed verstoken blijft, treedt ook een infarct op. Over de oorzaken van die spasmen is nog heel weinig bekend.


Nu op zich niets aan blijkbaar, dokter vernoemde medicatie maar had liever dat ik niet van mijn tienerjaren elke dag aan de pillen zit. Trouwens zelf ook amper medicatie-gebruiker, probeer zoveel mogelijk die troep te mijden.

Each year my parents go watch the dog of my aunts, while they're on vacation. Unfortunately this year was drastically different for me, I joined them instead of staying home. Torn apart from breaking up a 5 years relationship has drained energy far beyond healthy. A break-down & weight loss as result. But .. far away there's some light at the tunnel, coming from a flash of photography. When scoping through the lens of depression, tears and misery tend to fade for an instant. Pleasant feeling for a few seconds.
